The well known Google program Adsense for video, which allow publishers to show Youtube videos with adsense on it, has suffered a mayor blow after Google announced the termination of this program by the end of April 2009. It has been only near a year that this program has been launched and now it is ending for good. According to the Adsense Insider blog the decision to terminate the Adsense for video was made after an intensive review of this program did not show the results expected by Google.
Following this decision, Google is asking those who have embedded YouTube videos with AdSense units on their websites to remove their unit. Earnings from Adsense for video units will continue to be credited till the end of april.
From May, no earnings will be credited for the Adsense video program ads and the ad units will only direct users to the website Youtube.com.
